Munich, January 18, 2024 – Acton Capital announces that Julius Luehr (31) has been elected Partner. Originally from Hamburg, Julius joined Acton Capital’s Investment Team in early 2018. The appointment follows the final closing of the firm’s latest venture fund ACTON VI (€225M, 2023 vintage) as well as several new hires to extend the team in Munich.
“Early on, Julius has built a trusted network within the industry and has contributed significantly to our deal flow.” --Christoph Braun (Founding Partner, Acton Capital)
Julius has been responsible for multiple high-profile deals in the European B2B and SaaS industry, including the initial investment and a $73M follow-on round in cybersecurity awareness platform SoSafe and a €20M Series A in logistics-as-a-service startup everstox – both from Germany. Furthermore, Julius supported Acton Capital’s investments into industrial tech disruptors like Metalshub, the leading metals and mining trading and intelligence platform or Laserhub, a vertically integrated one-stop-shop for metal part procurement, headquartered in Stuttgart.
He also co-led Acton Capital’s very first investment in Estonia: a €12M Series A in AI-powered customer service specialist Klaus from Tallinn. In 2023, Julius temporarily relocated to Stockholm to strengthen the firm’s profile in the Nordics region. His step into the partner role follows the firm’s culture to develop its own venture capital talent from within. Julius holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mannheim, and a finance master’s degree from the Stockholm School of Economics and the University of St. Gallen.
“Over the past six years, Julius has built a strong profile in venture capital and deepened our footprint in Europe’s SaaS industry. He’s an incredibly talented investor with a keen eye for opportunities and long-term potential of startups. His integrity and dedication make him a trusted partner for our founders to navigate the forks in the road. He has always showcased a strong commitment to the success of our portfolio companies, while upholding the core principle of our firm: to invest in substance, not the next hype,” says Christoph Braun.
“I’m honored to become a partner at one of the longest-standing venture capital investors in Europe. From the beginning, I’ve been fortunate to be part of an institution that actively passes on deep experience from nearly 25 years of venture investing,” adds Julius Luehr.
“I look forward to leveraging this experience with the most promising startups, learning from them, and being a small part of their scaling journeys.” -- Julius Luehr (Partner, Acton Capital)
