Linas Matkasse closes Series A – Creandum and Acton Capital invest in Swedish meal-kit provider

Stockholm/Munich, May 09, 2011 – Linas Matkasse closes Series A by Acton Capital and Creandum: the Vällingby, Sweden-based e-commerce food delivery service has received an equity investment of undisclosed amount. Backers include Swedish venture capital investor Creandum and Acton Capital from Munich. The fresh equity will be used to continue to grow Linas Matkasse domestically and abroad.

Founded by siblings Lina Gebäck and Niklas Aronsson, Linas Matkasse weekly provides its subscribers with a pre-packaged bag of groceries, with easy-to-prepare recipes and ingredients for homemade dinners for the whole family. Within three years, the Vällingby-based startup has quickly grown to become the Swedish market leader.

Linas Matkasse currently has a customer base of over 50,000 registered customers and its food delivery service is also available via iOS and Android app. Together with their investment, Sebastian Wossagk, Managing Partner at Acton Capital, and Johan Brenner, General Partner at Creandum, will join Linas Matkasse’s board.

Linas Matkasse’s founders carefully evaluated several international investors before deciding to work with Creandum and Acton Capital and trusting their experience of building fast-growing companies.
